Adopt
Give a former street bunny the ultimate gift - a permanent home!
All adopters are thoroughly screened, including an application, virtual meeting, reference request, and home visit. After an application is approved, we offer two options for adopters: foster-to-adopt or adoption - each of which are explained below.
Our adoption fee is $150 per bunny, which covers the cost of their spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and additional veterinary care. Upon intake, all of our bunnies are given flea, tick, ear mite, and deworming medications.
Foster-to-Adopt
We will bring 1-3 bunnies to your home for a meet-and-greet. Your family will meet the bunnies and decide if any of them are a good fit! If needed, we can provide all the supplies needed to foster. You can start fostering that day, or meet other bunnies later if needed.
After fostering for a minimum of two weeks, the adoption can be finalized - but there’s no rush! During the foster-to-adopt period, the bunny you are fostering won’t be promoted by us and will be ‘on hold’ for you. We can always try another bunny if the one you are fostering isn’t the right fit.
Adoption is a long-term commitment, so we want the potential adopter to feel confident in their decision.
Adoption
This option includes the meet-and-greet, but instead of fostering afterward, we require a two-week period for the adopter to purchase supplies, do additional research, and consider the decision to adopt before finalizing. This is because we don’t want adopting a bunny to ever be an impulse decision, as it isn’t in the best interest of the bunny or potential adopters. After the two-week period, we will bring the bunny you’re adopting back to your home and finalize the adoption!
We highly recommend foster-to-adopt, which is also our most popular of the two options!

Foster
Once our bunnies are rescued, we need to place them in a safe and welcoming environment as soon as possible. Fosters provide a temporary home for bunnies to give them the socialization and enrichment they need to prepare them for adoptive homes.
We understand that sometimes, fosters form a bond with their foster bunny, and don’t want to let them go! If you ‘foster fail,’ just let us know and we can proceed with finalizing the bunny’s adoption.
All fosters are thoroughly screened, including an application, virtual meeting, reference request, and home visit on the day they begin fostering. We will provide all the supplies needed to foster, and prior bunny experience is not required! We have plenty of educational resources, and are available 24/7 via phone for our fosters for any questions or emergencies.

Volunteer
If you want to be a part of the action, help join our Street Team. We get calls to rescue bunnies several times a week across the Richmond, Roanoke, and Hampton Roads areas. We also learn about bunnies in need of rescue all over Virginia, and hope to organize more rescue teams across the state. Please apply to volunteer to help us save bunnies!
