Hoppy Tales: Snowball aka Alice
A few weeks ago, a little white bunny named Snowball took a trip to the North Pole to visit Santa Paws and ask for her Christmas wish: to be adopted. π
Late last night on Christmas Eve, her wish came true. Snowball, now called Alice and nicknamed Fun Bun, was officially adopted by her foster family! πβ¨
Alice was rescued from Hancock Village in Midlothian in October 2024. A family that was breeding and killing bunnies for meat in their garage decided to stop, and Alice and 9 other bunnies were dumped outside in their neighborhood to die. π’
Alice survived both terrible fates and, after several months in foster care, blossomed from a fearful and skittish bunny to an outgoing, loving, and confident girl. πβ€οΈβπ©Ή
Five different families fostered Alice during the 14 months she was in our care. The saddest part is that, despite having an amazing personality and being good with cats, dogs, and kids, she was rejected for her appearance as a ruby-eyed white bunny. Potential adopters thought she was scary or creepy, and some didn't even want us to bring her out of her carrier on meet & greets. π
Alice's fosters grew increasingly saddened by her rejections. When we asked yesterday if she was available for an upcoming meet and greet, they said no - because they realized she had been home all along, with a family who adores her, and couldn't stand to let her go. π°π β€οΈ
Congratulations, Alice and family! This special girl is so lucky to have her Christmas wish come true! ππβ¨
